2023 Lenten
Fundraiser
Supporting local organizations
to end homelessness
and housing insecurity
in our community.
Our Goal: $10,000
Lenten Fundraiser Details (click V for more information)
The St. Michael Social Ministry team is raising funds to support the mission of homelessness and housing insecurity in Chester County. During Lent we encourage our community to support several Chester County organizations that work to ensure people have a place to live. Every day 402 people in our county experience homelessness, 25% of those are children. Others are living day to day in low rent, poorly managed housing and face eviction if illness or job loss prevents them from paying rent. Others cannot afford to make needed repairs to their property due to the high cost of maintenance.
Our Lenten fundraising goal is $10,000. We plan to provide $2000 to each of the organizations below who work to ensure safe, affordable housing and shelter for residents in need.
Contributions can be made in the weekly offering or online HERE

Via Crucis
(The Way of the Cross)
Join us on Friday, April 7 at 7:00 pm for our Good Friday Cantata Service featuring Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis (The Way of the Cross). Each movement of this work for piano and choir is based one of the fourteen stations of the cross. Scripture readings will be interspersed throughout the piece. Baritone soloist Kevin Godinez (Academy of Vocal Arts resident), who sang for last year’s service, will join the Chancel Choir.
In addition, cellist Justin Miller will play Bach’s “Cello suite no. 1 G Major, Prelude”, and accompany our Music Director, Ryan Peteraf, on Arvo Pärt’s “Spiegel im Spiegel” for piano and cello.
We hope that you will take time out of your busy schedules to join us for what will be a very meaningful evening of prayer and music to reflect on the Good Friday message.
