Music plays a vital role in worship at St. Michael. Our music ministry consists of adult choirs, handbell ringers, and a children's choirs. The music ministry sings and rings for Sunday worship services, as well as leading our annual Christmas Cantata.
Are you looking for a fun way to be active at St. Michael? Consider joining the Music Ministry!
We have a Chancel Choir, A Children's Choir and an Adult Handbell Ensemble (Jubilation Ringers).
The Chancel Choir, for adults and high school students, leads all of the liturgy, psalm, hymns, plus a choral anthem for each 10 AM Service. The choir will work on anthems of varying styles from Renaissance through the present day. They will also present the beautiful Saint-Saens 'Christmas Oratorio' at the December 13 worship service. Open to any adult or high school student who loves to sing!
Children in grades 1 through 6 are invited to join together beginning October 4 immediately after the 10 AM service, in the Choir Room. We will learn songs to share in the November 1 and November 22 services, as well as a Christmas cantata for December 20.
This adult handbell ensemble, Jubilation Ringers, leads a prelude selection a few times each semester, focusing on holy days throughout the year. They love to ring a variety of music with a wide range of techniques used that come with handbell ringing. No prior experience needed, but the ability to read music helps!
