Please join us for a time of fellowship and prayer during Lent.
We’ll share a simple meal of soup and bread from 6:30–7:00 PM in the narthex, then gather in the sanctuary from 7:00–7:30 PM for a brief time of prayer. Please bring a favorite soup or bread (optional) and a bowl.
February 25th: Examen
This is a spiritual practice that involves reflection in five areas:
moving our attention to God,
giving thanks,
reviewing the day,
seeking forgiveness,
and resolving to follow Christ more closely during Lent.
March 4th: Guided Prayer
Join us for a time of quiet contemplation. Vicar Sarajean will lead us in a time of prayer and reflection meant to draw us deeper into the experience of Lent.
March 11th: Taizé
Taizé is a form of prayer that combines scripture reading, slow chanting of a repeated phrase to help focus in prayer, and times of silent reflection. This is designed to quiet our minds and spirits and refocus on God's voice.
March 18th: Lenten Evening Prayer
Often called Vespers, this is part of the in the Lutheran, Episcopalian, Roman, and Presbyterian prayer books. Centered on the psalms, it is a quiet way to pray, and reflect at the close of the day
March 25th: Examen to Prepare for Holy Week
As we approach Holy Week, this time of Examen will focus on, not just the previous day, but our time so far in the season of Lent. It is meant to prepare our spirit for the holiest week in the church year.
